Since age 14, Jared Thompson has worked in the asphalt and paving industry. Beginning as a laborer in his dad’s paving business, Jared worked his way through roller, backhoe, paving equipment, grading and excavation equipment, to ultimately leading full crews. When his father retired in late 2016, Jared founded Thompson Excavation & Asphalt.

Since starting with 2 small crews just a few years ago, the company has grown to over $3M in equipment assets and 5 full crews. Work includes new construction excavation and site prep, concrete, and asphalt for hotels, apartments, elementary and higher education, commercial, municipal, and residential land development, primarily centered in southeast Idaho.

Excavation , Concrete, & Asphalt Expertise

Gravel Supply, Transport, & Preparation - We provide any, or all of the following for building projects: crushed gravel, transport, grading , and compaction.

Asphalt Paving - We have decades of experience with hot mix asphalt for residential driveways, commercial parking lots, and municipal streets, including seal coat.

Site Concrete - We have crews with experience installing residential and commercial curb and gutter, sidewalk, and concrete stairways.

Utility Excavation - We commonly provide site excavation for sewer, water, electrical, and other utilities, including grading for storm drainage.

Site Excavation - We provide excavation services like demolition, clearing trees and debris, excavation for footings and foundations, establish grades, and moving materials from or to the job site.
